Pet Cancer Foundation

Within 48 hours, you'll have a plan of action.

If your pet has cancer, please let your veterinarian know they can register with Oncura Partners and receive a free initial consultation with a cancer specialist. We’ll ask your veterinarian to provide the diagnosis (type of cancer) and the exact type of cancer cells from the biopsy or tissue sample to Oncura Partners. At that point, Oncura Partners gives your veterinarian one free online consultation to recommend the best treatment options for your pet, responding within 48 hours of the request.

If you and your veterinarian choose, you may continue to work with Oncura Partners to help in the ongoing treatment process. They’ll review the medical records, your pet’s response and blood-monitoring results, and advise your veterinarian if changes in treatment are needed. They’ll also inform your veterinarian about problems to watch for. Oncura Partners will even send chemotherapy medication (if warranted) in exact single prescribed doses just for your pet. This can lower the overall cost and requirement for your veterinarian to keep an inventory of costly and highly sensitive drugs they seldom use.

With this process, many cancer treatments that once required traveling far from home to administer treatment can be successfully implemented, monitored and adapted by your own local veterinarian, with a cancer specialist assisting every step of the way. Although this approach may not be as in-depth as your pet’s treatment at an oncology or university cancer center, and in some cases won’t replace the need to travel to an oncologist, in many instances it can make the difference in saving your pet’s life.
